Founded in December 2020, SFCL is a completely independent amateur Rainbow 6 Siege competitive league. I began my work within SFCL as their brand designer, livestream designer, stream producer, and part-time observer. I am currently SFCL’s Head of Brand Development, and Art Direction.

The Problem

There is a significant lack of quality amateur competitive leagues within the Siege community. Such a large player base should be cultivated in order to acclimate more players to a competitive environment.

The Solution

Solar Flare Competitive League was started in order to become the premiere Siege league that had accessibility in mind, but still utilized a Pro League format with high production value and organization. With this objective in mind, it fell on me to focus on developing the brand and assets of SFCL.

Branding & Assets

After the first season of SFCL, I officially took over as the Brand Manager and Art Director. I created the SFCL logo, which is a stylized rendering of a sun with a flare radiating from its edge. The asymmetry of the logo is striking, and defies convention, while still applying modern logo practice with a clean and simple vector and the usage of a subtle gradient. The branding and style for seasons 2 and 3 is featured below.

The SFCL logo, wordmark, and motion graphic was developed by me, and widely used for SFCL Season 2.

Each season of SFCL is split into Solar and Flare divisions. I developed promotional assets throughout the season for use on social media, and for SFCL’s website (currently under construction).

Below are assets I developed and continually updated throughout the full season of SFCL Season 2. These images were posted on our website, Twitter, and our stream.

SFCL continues to be a promising entity within the amateur Siege community, and I will continue to guide the production and art direction for the upcoming 4th season.
